The play is set in an American laboratory in the 1940s. There, Enrico Fermi and Robert Oppenheimer, two scientists, work under the orders of General Groves. Their goal is to make an atomic bomb, because the world is at war and if the enemies produce the bomb before they do, the war is lost.

But Enrico and Robert can’t find the element they need to make the bomb work, until Elda Anderson, an expert in physics and chemistry, arrives. She discovers that they need uranium 235 and that this element is to be found in England, in a prehistoric monument called Stonehenge.

The problem is that England is a long way away. So, Elda comes up with the idea that they can use the time machine to travel faster. Without hesitation Elda and Robert enter the machine and start a journey that will take them through time.

On their journey they will visit prehistoric times, Napoleon’s court and the future.  They will meet different characters who will help them, or maybe not, to find the uranium 235.

Will they manage to get hold of the uranium and will they make the atomic bomb?

La obra de teatro se desarrolla en un laboratorio estadounidense de los años 40. Allí Enrico Fermi y Robert Oppenheimer, dos científicos, trabajan a las órdenes del General Groves. Su objetivo es conseguir la bomba atómica, pues el mundo está en guerra y si los enemigos consiguen la bomba antes de que lo hagan ellos, el mundo está perdido.

Pero Enrico y Robert no dan con el elemento que les hace falta para que la bomba funciones, hasta que llega Elda Anderson, experta en física y química. Ella descubre que necesitan uranio 235 y que ese elemento se encuentra en Inglaterra, en un monumento prehistórico llamado Stonehenge.

El problema es que Inglaterra está muy lejos. Así que a Elda se le ocurre que pueden utilizar la máquina del tiempo para viajar  más rápido. Sin dudarlo Elda y Robert entran en la máquina e inician un viaje que les llevará a través del tiempo.

En su periplo visitarán la prehistoria, la corte de Napoleón y el futuro y se encontrarán con diferentes personajes que les ayudarán (o no) a encontrar el uranio 235.

¿Conseguirán hacerse con el uranio? ¿Fabricarán la bomba atómica?
